What to choose> Test NTSC 23,976 ips

Here we have made the first test with a part of 15 mn from the movie Lord Of The Rings "The Fellowship Of The Ring".

We see that Gordian Knot and XMPEG got a smaller file than expected.
We are looking first the problem with Gordian Knot.
I made a lot of test to oblige Gordian Knot to respect the initial bitrate of 927kbps, I tried to increase the bitrate to get the size of file of 100 Mo, but nothing changed. When I've analyzed the file with GSPOT v.2.1, GSPOT showed that Gordian Knot chose a bitrate of 740 kbps.

XMPEG
has respected the bitrate during the analyze, the bitrate was 929kbps, but why the file is smaller? Indeed, during the analyze, XMPEG has skipped the first 25 seconds of the movie, and who knows why?. I tried to impose the number of frames to encode but nothing change ... i didn't tried yet with an "*.ifo" file, but if we can't use the "*.vob" files only, it does'nt let us some free choice.

FlasKMPEG and DVD2AVI 1.86 have almost respected the bitrate:
- FlasK : 930kbps
- DVD2AVI : 929 kbps
Both of them have encoded the entire "*.vob".

FlasKMPEG is here the faster encoder from 10 à 35 % than the others softwares.
